Grosvenor in His Natural Habitat

from $65.00

"Grosvenor in His Natural Habitat" is a surreal, historical deep-dive into the spirit of early exploration. A vintage portrait of a gentleman explorer acts as a setting sun behind deep, mountainous ridges, while another figure sits quietly at the base of ancient, towering trees. A single, vivid pink flower and a silver fern frond disrupt the monochromatic landscape, adding a pulse of life to the historical imagery. This piece feels like a forgotten page from an explorer’s field journal, reimagined for the modern eye.

About the Collection:

Created during the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns, this collection represents a deeply personal return to art. Confined to a small downtown apartment, I began cutting up vintage magazines and historical books as a way to escape. These pieces are fractured, yearning windows into the rugged expanses of the American West—an attempt to commune with nature and ease a worried mind when the real world felt entirely out of reach.
