"Road Song" is a visual poem about the open road and the endless horizon. This expansive, horizontal composition strings together vast plains, grazing cattle, a lone herder beneath a barren tree, and a dusty road stretching toward a distant mountain peak. Splices of vibrant blue sky and towering cumulonimbus clouds break through the black-and-white landscape, creating a sense of movement and shifting weather. It is a quiet, powerful reflection on isolation, distance, and the timeless rhythm of the West.
About the Collection:
Created during the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns, this collection represents a deeply personal return to art. Confined to a small downtown apartment, I began cutting up vintage magazines and historical books as a way to escape. These pieces are fractured, yearning windows into the rugged expanses of the American West—an attempt to commune with nature and ease a worried mind when the real world felt entirely out of reach.
