"Romp" is a playful, mythical tribute to the wild energy of places like Jackson, Wyoming. A stark black wolf bounds forward with a raven perched upon its back, crossing an abstract, rusty-red sun. Above them, a sphere of native prairie grass leads the eye to a rugged, torn horizon of jagged mountain peaks. It is a whimsical, folklore-inspired snapshot of the untamed West, meticulously cut from delicate, modern travel ephemera.
About the Collection:
During the summer of 2026, I packed up and hit the road, traveling through Sisters, OR, Missoula, MT, and Jackson, WY. 'Tearing Through the West' marks a unique shift in my practice: instead of my usual vintage books, these pieces are built entirely from contemporary travel guides picked up along the way. The modern paper is incredibly thin and delicate, requiring a new level of patience and precision to cut and layer. This collection is a vibrant, tactile diary of tearing through the modern American West.
